This morning room 3 did Te whare tapa wha - Taha whanau. this is about what we would have for weddings. we would have flowers,cook island donuts,coconut rolls,cook island dance and the cook island flag.

If the wedding was in cook islands you would have a boat to take you around the island and show you different parts of the island would be like.

This morning we heard from our leaders yr 7 and eight. Here are some  of their highlights.

. some year eight boys said they were scared  so every boy in jezakia's dorm slept together in there beds at the bottom.

. Bradley's highlight was being a good leader of the school and being a prefect.

. And some of the yr eights were talking about there  food they ate.

. one of the yr 7 said there favourite highlight was stepping up and becoming a leader and coming out of their shy zone.

we played stack the cup games so five people from each team went to play. so first there were 5 random people that had to have a turn. next was 5 random girls from each team and during that we all were cheering because we needed to participate and cooperate after that there had to be five.

Welcome back o term 3 today is the first day of school for everyone. This morning at pt England school  we had an immersion assembly. we always have an immersion assembly   before we do any learning so all the classes get together in the hall and we talk about what we are going to be doing for the term for inquiry.

Team 1:

so what team one is doing for there inquiry is thinking what other kids in the world are doing like how they come to school and what they eat and how they get picked up and what there gonna do after school.


Team 2 :

Team two was   acting in a way as Dora the explorer styled word tour so Dora had he map with her and her backpack and buddy boots. so Dora and her friends wanted to travel around Aotearoa which means New Zealand.


Team 3:

Team 3 is amazing race through landmarks structures around the world so there learning other things in different countries and like going on airplanes to other countries doing different activities and getting interesting clues to reach the end of the race.






Team 4:

Team 4 have been learning about food around the world and trying different food so all the teachers had something different from around the world like sushi, sushi is made in japan, so there going to be learning about food.






Team 5:

Team 5 is learning about Myths and legends around the world and so all the team 5 teachers did a acting story about sina and the eel  so the story was brought up in Samoa.



I love having immersion assembly on the first day is because we all come together and listen what where doing for the Term.

Genius Hour presentation

Yesterday and today Room 3  presented our presentation of our Genius Hour. everyone of us had to talk about what we are passionate about  so for example i am passionate about cooking and we had a paper that had a score of 25 to so my score out of 25 is 17.

 And we also had 1 - 3 minutes to talk and we had to interact with the the audience which means interaction.


What i'm looking forward to next term is seeing all my friends together and all the lovely teachers that help us learn and doing some more work with my class  room 3 And i also am looking forward to sports like any kind of sport.

what i'm looking forward to in the Holiday is boning with my family which  means spending more time with my family and  not waking up early so i can sleep in.

Matariki

My Highlight of Matariki day was fun.And there where also 2 teams it was 16 kids in one team and the other 16 kids were making kites. I was in the cooking group first.we baked star cookies with icing The colour of the for the icing is Blue, yellow,red,orange,green and Purple.
That is my day of Matariki day on Friday. We also in school celebrate Matariki because it is a nice thing to do  right especially in school with other people And Different teachers right.

And Matariki is a new year tradition where Maori people like to celebrate the hole day and never stop.








We should celebrate Matariki day because........

Matariki is about the Maori New year.


People gather together during Matarikri to survive the winter Months. There are many exciting events that take place throughout  Matarikri Festivals such as kite making, storytelling,dance performance, arts and crafts and cooking.

And there also is a special event in Glenn Innes Maybury Reserve.
