Matariki

My Highlight of Matariki day was fun.And there where also 2 teams it was 16 kids in one team and the other 16 kids were making kites. I was in the cooking group first.we baked star cookies with icing The colour of the for the icing is Blue, yellow,red,orange,green and Purple.
That is my day of Matariki day on Friday. We also in school celebrate Matariki because it is a nice thing to do  right especially in school with other people And Different teachers right.

And Matariki is a new year tradition where Maori people like to celebrate the hole day and never stop.








We should celebrate Matariki day because........

Matariki is about the Maori New year.


People gather together during Matarikri to survive the winter Months. There are many exciting events that take place throughout  Matarikri Festivals such as kite making, storytelling,dance performance, arts and crafts and cooking.

And there also is a special event in Glenn Innes Maybury Reserve.

Joseph Parker

This Morning we had a normal assembly until we saw a famous boxer named Joseph Parker when we all saw Him we started to talk about him and about the boxing he does.There some different things going on like how he stood up in front of our hole school and said something very important he said always believe in your selves and the second one was nothing beats hard work.

One nice and early morning Lola got up out of her bed got dressed and had a shower she headed down stairs to eat breakfast and which was her favourite breakfast which is fruit loops she can two full boxes to herself after that which is 20 minutes later she grabbed her bag and went to school which is flying class. Her class is very cool because she loves learning about flying, especially how dragons fly. Straight after school Her friends always meet up at the shops just for a little treat right while they were walking home together  for the first time. But they just met today at school and Lola thought of an enjoyable way to start being friends. She said why don’t we introduce our names. So first let's start from the left. Next to Lola, Hi I'm Bella i am 10 years old, HI I'm Ella I am also 10 years old, Hi I'm clear I am 11 years old, Last person Hi my name is Ryan. After that they all were talking about dragons,Lola loves dragons she hopes she could see one or have one as her personality pet she gazed at the sky hoping she could see one And that moment her wish came true she saw one dragon and was yelling, dragons, dragons  all her friends looked up and they disappeared and then they came back and started playing with each other and lola knew something was wrong with these dragons so she ran home and all her friends just didn’t care but only ryan did so he followed her to her house they both ran upstairs into lola’s room and started thinking about what was going to happen next but before that they should start thinking about how they disappear lola is trying but there’s nothing she could think of so first thing she wants to do is come up with a name it only took her 30 seconds to come up with two names for one girl and one boy there names are Jessica and Erik, Lola: I think i have got a plan come Erik let’s go to my uncle jimmy’s house he knows everything about science in the meantime there friends are still walking home they didn’t care. Ryan said to lola what are we going to do with science and dragons lola said you will see come on let’s get going as soon as they got there they knocked on the door And yelled……

Samoan Independence

Last week Room 3 my class we all watched a video about Samoa and when they were getting free and they were finally independent. know there are no New zealand people that are in charge of samoa so the year that they were free is 1962 and the year they started getting ruled bye New zealand is 1929. so those years are a long time ago. Taha Tinana

This week me and my friends did another taha challenge it was taha tinana so we had to stand on one foot with our other foot on the knee on the ground  we had to see if we could stand on one foot for one Minute and if you drop you are out and it is very had but we tried it and it worked so then you could try it for your fitness or health.And comment when you have done it i would like to see your rules or a video.
